How Do I Play Poker?

Rules of Texas Hold ’Em Poker

Texas Hold ’Em is the number 1 poker game played in the UK and fortunately you can use your bet365 poker bonus to play this game with. It’s usually played with 2-10 players using a 52-card deck. The aim of the game is to win your opponents chips by having the best five-card hand. You may have heard the term "Poker face" this is because the other players can't see your hand so if you don't have the best hand you just have to convince them to fold, this is a bluff.

Setup and Blinds
Each hand begins with two players posting forced bets called the small blind and big blind, rotating clockwise each hand. Every player is then dealt two private cards (hole cards), face down.

Bet Rounds
There are four rounds of bets:

Pre-Flop – After they get their hole cards, players may fold, call (match the stake), or raise.
Flop – Three community cards are dealt face up in the centre of the table. A round of betting follows, starting with the first player left of the dealer.
Turn – A fourth card is dealt. Followed by another betting round.

Showdown

If more than one player remains after the final betting round, they remaining players reveal their cards. The best poker hand is made from any combination of the two hole cards and the five community cards. The player with the highest-ranking hand wins the pot.

Ranking of Cards (in order)

Royal Flush (ace, king, queen, jack, 10), Straight Flush (any five same suit in order), Four of a Kind (four of the same card rank, e.g four 8's), Full House (3 of same card rank and 2 of another card rank, e.g 3 5's and 2 6's), Flush (five of same suit but not in order), Straight (5 cards in order not of same suit), Three of a Kind (3 of same card rank), Two Pair (two different pairs of same card rank), One Pair (one pair of two cards with the same rank), High Card (if no combination highest card value in hand wins, e.g Ace is highest, 2 lowest).

Other Poker Texas Hold Em Rules

The dealer position moves clockwise each hand.
Players must play in order.
In no-limit games, players may wager any or all of their remaining chips at any time. This is called going "all-in"
